@LisPi i lived in an apartment that just had a box that would like start whirring once in a while and then stop, and it collected the water in a container, that was pretty nice. dunno how much energy it required, but i want something like that.

the a/c here, being an ac, i'm pretty sure just cools the air to dew point, dumps the water and the heat outside, and returns the air into the apartment, so in winter that isn't really an option as it gets very cold very quickly

@LisPi wait how are mold and cold related? here mold is a huge problem, but we're near an ocean which everyone calls a river for some reason /hj, and it doesn't really get below freezing. when i lived in a colder place, the bigger winter problem was heaters drying out all the air.

@LisPi i have to wait after i turn it on, like for the fresh warm water to push all the stale now-cold water out. i don't mind it so much, cause at that point i'm not wet yet. but when it gets cold mid-shower, that's very annoying..

@LisPi @nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... @navi but like, if it comes exclusive with a piece of hardware? like. what about one of those cheap tetris games. it's a piece of plastic with a segmented lcd screen and some kinda chip, and software. you're basically saying that selling it as a package should be illegal, and videogames should be completely decoupled from any specific hardware?

i think like, the money it requires is a problem, being excluded cause you don't have the hardware sucks. the e-waste is a problem. even like, preservation issues due to drm. but i don't see how kernel-level anticheat is immoral per se.
