β‘οΈππ€ NEW - Apple is adding a new AI-powered tool to its Passwords app. It automatically finds weak or compromised passwords and replaces them with strong new ones.
The tool works directly inside the built-in Passwords app and Safari browser on iPhone. It monitors saved passwords, spots problems, and fixes them without extra steps by logging into the website, creating a secure password, and saving it in iCloud Keychain.
Previously, these apps only warned about weak, repeated, or hacked passwords. Now the AI updates them automatically.
The system runs on-device when possible and uses Appleβs Private Cloud Compute when needed, keeping personal data private.
Announced at WWDC 2026, the feature is available to developers now and will roll out with iOS 27 later this year.
The Passwords app also manages passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and 2FA codes across Apple devices and Windows via iCloud.
