“Bitcoin is just money” assumes we already understand what money is; we don’t. Every definition we inherited was formed inside fiat, and we are necessarily shoehorning that fiat conception of money onto Bitcoin instead of allowing perfect money to define itself free from fiat bias.
Bitcoin reveals that an essential function of money is eternal memory. Value cannot persist through time without memory of ownership, transfer, and state. Money does not last if the memory is not eternal. Once money is instantiated as conserved memory, you are necessarily dealing with identity, information, chronology, and conservation.
