Lots of regular folks can't pull together $200 for an emergency. So to them it's almost offensive to suggest spending on magical internet money.

The key to coaxing them into it is to develop an exit system for the ways in which they are trapped. If we have a network of free food distribution from community gardens, then they worry less about feeding their families. If we have a time banking system to let them pay for services by volunteering, then they worry less about needing extra money to make ends meet.

Now they have some extra room in their budget and are more open to Bitcoin as a solution because we've built trust by providing additional solutions as well.
