That too! The best way seems to be a combination of algorithmic solutions like that for day to day, and more “brute force” methods like what I posted for cases where a user wants to take no chances.

The option to opt-in to as a setting is nice as it would be controlled by the end user. Better than arbitrary blocks and shadow banning according to the will/mood of some dictator-in-the-making that own an app or relay that has a bigger share of the nostr "universe".

You want to ruin Nostr like Mastodon and Twitter? Go back to your safe space

we should have an account that publicly shares a banlist with the whole of nostr to make sure everyone can block these people Let's call it #nostrblock
Lain Iwakura · 164w
where do we share those blocklists though? I think we should share them under a hashtag, something like #nostrblock

Ability to configure a network of trust is really great. I think options for a user to set who they want to engage with would go a long way. Users could choose clients/apps that they knew supported those features.

Or people can just press the block button themselves instead of crying for someone else to do it for them.

How about having a list of blocked accounts I can take to another client like I do with following? I mean linked to my npub like my profile description. Running one account on different devices/clients and blocking the same people could become quite time consuming.
