I've invited them and they've tried, made a post or two, and then gave up. I think they don't feel the need to put things online. I kind of agree with them, but I made a conscious decision that I should have a web presence.

I only try to invite my friends that I feel like would be open to it. Clients don’t deliver the “this is for my friends and family vibe”. It’s more of like an AOL, IRC, Skype vibe where you use it to talk to other people/strangers to connect about tech, freedom, etc.

I think messengers specifically Concord are the best way to get family on rn. So much easier having a group chat with only people you know & maybe getting on a few public groups than trying to use it as social media when it has nothing most people use social media for.
