I find the nation state and corporate treasury adoption story pretty boring.

It’s not because I disagree with it. Once a liquid asset reaches this scale, it’s natural for larger entities to want to own it.

A lot of people actively *don’t want* those big entities to buy it, which I think is kind of delusional since it’s a permissionless asset. Those anti-treasurers don’t find it boring; it’s their new thing to argue against.

And yet at the same time I have little interest in talking about them buying it. Yes, I think more of them will over time.

So I just find the topic boring. Neither for or against. Would rather focus on other uses of bitcoin.

Of course nation-states and other criminals will use Bitcoin. It just baffles me that any Bitcoiner would go out of their way to actively *encourage* it!

Their adoption only makes me ponder just how regretful so many of my friends will be that I shared the good news with them and they failed to do the work when they could have bought 5-digit BTC.

Building and educating is what matters, not repeating the “global adoption” mantra.

for the people who have been here since the beginning i think it’s an incredibly validating moment because it’s a step towards Bitcoin as a global reserve currency, which was always prophesied, but 10 years ago seemed impossible

It depends on your religious views, I think. In certain ones it is important to ensure that everyone is not corrupt, not criminal and saved.

More interesting: the convergence of Bitcoin, AI, and the larger “FreedomTech” landscape. What happens when an unstoppable force - the ever-increasing competence of machines - meets an immovable object, absolute scarcity? A bitcoin standard is the best check against runaway AI. But that prot...

The boring part reminds me of what I once heard nostr:nprofile1qqsttvnpjka059akcl97qyqt9yvwc0z7z6xwfaqrxl08dag89l8sffcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp058fmcr say, (paraphrasing) I wish for the time that Bitcoin becomes boring. As it becomes such a normal part of everyones life that it's just boring. Let's...

If the thing that will catapult us from 1% adoption to hyperbtc is boring then I can’t imagine what story you think it’s interesting. Couldn’t be africans buying bananas with ecash

The end game of bitcoin is no one will talk about it. They will just use it in everyday life. Yes it will be boring🥱 Nation states adoption is just one of the milestones. Let’s embrace enjoy the process🤟🏻

Yes, I see some bitcoiners and nocoiners alike misinterpret or misunderstand permissionlessness. "Bitcoin is money for your enemies" is such an important thing for everyone to understand, as is why that phrase is an endorsement.

I think it is self evidently not a good thing for the USG to own a significant % of all the coins. Being against then doing as they have done does not imply revoking their coins at the network level either.
Hoshi · 52w
theoretically time until adoption matters, because bitcoin could loose its first mover advantage and get flippening-ed

I agree Lyn. The two biggest sources of alpha in our lives will be front running stacking #bitcoin before the institutions ramp up purchasing to scale and borrowing inflating fiat currency against deflating sound money without having to sell down Bitcoin. Both preserve purchasing power and maximize ...

I’m of the understanding that all the worlds currencies collapse into bitcoin therefore any nation state that wanted a good/service to be to be produced or performed for that state they will have to pay in bitcoin. So if you want your country to have things they gonna need Bitcoin, unless of cours...

All of this. Couldn’t agree more. Sometimes people just like to take position just to argue it.

Like talking about the growth of a tree perhaps? It’s nice to see it growing, but everyone is really just excited about the fruit that the tree will soon bear as a result of that growth. Boring and exciting at the same time imo.

Encouraging everyday people to DCA is the best way to further Bitcoin's potential to help promote justice and economic freedom. The entities focused on amassing wealth and power are going to do what they do. If you're a true believer try to onboard friends at the lowest price possible.
