My Boss just tried to explain to me why on prem solutions are dying out and why companies like e.g. microsoft just swallow every competition out there.
Told him thats the Fiat Problem.
He just went mad and said he doesn´t want to disguss with me anymore.
"I dont want to.. I want to explain it to you. Take 2020 for example, who profited the most?"
Silence....
"The big companies.. and why? Can you just borrow 3 Billion... I mean YOU yourself?"
"No"
"Well, they can and the credit is printed out of thin air while you dont get the funds"
But he was so focused on "cryptoscam" and "bitcoin doesnt solve this" in his head...
I said "forget about Bitcoin...forget about Crypto, focus on Fiat...only fiat..."
But people dont even get simple basic economics when you present it to them in the simplest form imaginable.
Probably better of in kindergarten with this education...

He doesn't want to understand it. If he did, he might feel the need to do something about it, and he fears that might be too hard. Hating on you and on anon hoodie-wearing hackers on teh interwebs is easier...

Also, I think your boss is wrong about on-prem solutions dying. He needs to zoom out. Everything comes in circles, and cloud is just another convenience trap.
