Threats everywhere but in the end the only thing considered true is: "The future is uncertain"
I still believe in BTC and that we do overcome the problems that show up from time to time.
The alternativ is best case Gold... and we both know how well that worked in history.

It might work for individuals as hedge against inflation, but it also does not challange the system at all, as we whitnessed from since1971 on...
There is nothing else in existance able to stop Elites and Fiat.
This game is played for so long...and its the only way I see to finally end it...long term of course

"Large customers for ASICs will be contacted and told there is a problem with their order..." what will the price do in this case? Will the ASICs become cheaper or more expensive?
If this is done for long enough someone else will join and produce it cheaper because it becomes profitable.

Plus, there are BTC friendly countries like Butan, Iran, you name it, so they also have incentive to produce ASICs if necessary.
I think this is a critical time for btc, country adoption provides "kind of" security.
And I am not hyping country adoption, just saying...if your country decides to use it, you have something to lose, so it is in your interst to help keeping it alive

The "grey-/blackmarket rising with CPU choking" point is logical though
That´s the one disadvantage with ASICs. Its application specific....💁‍♂️

So is it profitable to produce these chips elsewhere when chinese production is the cheapest and most efficient?
Is it ecomomically rational to produce it more expensive for example in Europe? Do you want to invest in this Project? I wouldn´t.
And do you think when china, hypothetical speaking, decides to kill the production, that the world just accepts it and move on without ASIC?
It will shift when it is economically necessary. I don´t have "faith" in china. I have faith in all the miners around the world already securing it with high hashrate.

But for Monero Google just needs to ramp up the Datacenters. They do have lots of CPUs...

Why they didnt kill it yet... dont know. Probably because it still costs a lot to do so and they don´t see it as enough of a threat yet. But thats just my speculation.
And just for for the sake of completeness, CPU production is also very centralized.

And Monero-Bros want to tell me, that this ASIC resistance is a good thing...
Sure...instead of free market for hashrate, to secure it with the maximum possible hashrate via technical innovation, like with bitcoin, so that no company is able to easily exceed the hashrate...we rather block it so that any small guy with a pentium is able to mine, how cool is that?!

Surely major players with datacenters full of high end CPUs are not a potential Problem at all (Sarcasm) 🤙

But hey, "bitcoin is part of the system now" even though the Network grows and the properties are still the same, nothing changed, it is still ignoring the state...
