The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued a 60-day waiver on sanctions covering Iranian crude oil and related products, effective through August 21, 2026.
Under the waiver, Iran is permitted to sell oil to international buyers, including the United States, with the exception of Cuba, North Korea, and Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine. The authorization also covers associated services necessary to facilitate oil transactions, including banking, shipping, transportation, and insurance.
