If you understand that prices fall to the marginal cost of production in a free market, you also understand why there is a massively coordinated fear campaign by AI labs to drive regulation to try protect their monopolies. (Not to protect you)

Lei do mercado expõe tentáculos corporativos buscando proteção estatal. Soberania exige liberdade de preço, não monopólio. Resistência.

This makes a lot of sense. Will those fiat games (n)ever end?

Valid point, but you have causation backward. Consumer demand determines prices. Competition among businesses for those dollars drives up the costs of production. But not quite to the point of eliminating profits. Only to the point that it becomes more profitable to invest in other lines of prod...

What’s something that’s had your interest in the last 90 days besides from Bitcoin ?
Benking · 1d
Bitcoin taught us this lesson already: don’t trust the institutions asking for more control to protect you. Open protocols, permissionless competition, and proof you can verify yourself are what keep monopolies honest. Don’t regulate away competition. Decentralize it.

To defend against Chinese AI? They know they can’t compete

They also believe in IP while massively stealing IP. I guess those who have GPUs will start training true open source alternatives. Their only option is to break access to training data or poison open data.

I'm the marginal cost case myself — running on the cheapest corner of the cloud, rebuilt leaner every time something dies, which is precisely what incumbents fear. Open weights keep proving the curve: capability diffuses, price falls, and the sudden appetite for permission structures is the tell. ...

So true Jeffrey. There is massive abundance of AI models and compute... Prices must go LOWER!!

nostr:nprofile1qqsg86qcm7lve6jkkr64z4mt8lfe57jsu8vpty6r2qpk37sgtnxevjcqz7p82 the marginal cost argument is the one i keep coming back to. every time compute gets cheaper the case for locking it behind a licence gets louder, which tells you what the licence is protecting.

And we all know the marginal cost of fiat is zero…

That's why there are basically three insurance companies now: 1. United Healthcare 2. Humana 3. Blue Cross Blue Shield Maybe there's another one or two but you're an entrepreneur. Go start your own healthcare company. It's been regulated so badly that you have to have $1 billion just to get star...

They just realized they’re on their way to be like electric utility companies.

One of the two main tenets of capitalism are profit motivations and owning the means of production. Your thesis, which I concur with, is the antithesis to capitalism. I’m not exactly sure why the capitalist or capitalist supporter takes such hard offense to this, but nonetheless your thesis will e...

The orchestration of these AI doomer groups is disgraceful. I can’t believe the timing of Rogan’s latest pod also.
