The uncomfortable truth:

watching streams is boring for most people.

This is something people rarely say out loud.

Most viewers open a stream, watch for a minute or two, then leave. Streams usually become background noise while people do something else.

Yet many new streamers believe that if they grind long enough, thousands of viewers will eventually show up. In reality, attention online follows a power-law: a tiny number of creators get most of the viewers, while the majority stream to very small audiences.

Platforms don’t help either. Discovery mostly pushes already popular channels, while smaller creators remain invisible. Add bots, fake traffic, and inflated view counts, and it can make the whole ecosystem feel bigger than it really is.

The real issue with streaming isn’t the technology — it’s discovery and expectations.

Streaming doesn’t need more platforms.
It needs more honest expectations and real communities.
