Iran may be a shithole terrorist state but this has nothing to do with bitcoin. Bitcoin protocol doesn't care who uses it. It just works. Which brings me to a better question - why doesn't Iran use it as a de facto oil currency? Maybe because China pays oil only in yuan?

Because it can and does connect to literally thousands of relays. What benefit would it have to have an amethyst relay?

Some of us can code really well but AWS instances or ratbox servers with a data connection can be entirely out of the question when we're living in a tent.

Why doesn't amethyst have its own relay? What is massive missed opportunity.

Does amethyst have a deal with the nostr wine relay? That relay is annoying with the pop-ups trying to make you pay for it. I think it's a default relay on Amethyst or something, doesn't make sense because it's a paid relay unless Amethyst made some sort of deal with them. I've never paid for it because the pop-ups annoy me.
