I found their endorsement of W Social wildly discouraging and more than a little frightening, for a number of reasons.

So I'm not blaming people for dogpiling the EC. I too felt horrified and betrayed when UvdL went out of her way to snub Fedi and warmly endorse something that is not only not open source, but is by all appearances just as exploitative as X and Meta, except with 57% more Orwellian “papers, please” surveillance.
