when I preach about AI I'm not selling anything, or saying that everybody and your grandma will be making their own apps one day, or that classical coding is dead.

what I'm trying to say as urgently as I can is that if you're a coder and you're not all in into AI-assisted coding, then I hope you're an irreplaceable genius with some sort of extremely valuable and rare skill

... or you're 100% cooked

I've been coding my entire life. this is by far the biggest change I've witnessed. it's going to rip apart the job market for coders first.

as a colleague I tell you this: if you don't learn to master these new methods today, you're going to be flipping burgers in 5 years. guaranteed.

The job market for real coders is only going to grow because of all the ai slop code being produced. The majority of people using AI to make code are not coders and they will need help to fix all the mistakes the ai makes.

Only 10 years in my career. Not a prolific coder by any means. The workflow changes Claude code introduced have fundamentally changed everything for me. I’ve produced 10x and manually written so much less code. The progress in the last few years has been astounding

Spot on. At the same time, seeing the level of privacy wrecking, lies, manipulation & self-preservation strategies that the most advanced LLM's are already capable of, there should be a growing need for "human-only AI(r) gapped developed code", and for mesh networks where AI agents are "personAI no...

If I only use models running locally will I be OK? Or do I need to get used to the big cloud providers because they have all the "advanced" features?
euclid · 37w
This is a sad reality for me tbh, but I'm learning to accept it

Favorite tool and/or LLM for vibe coding?
Noisy signal · 37w
Agreed. Not only coding. Cybersecurity too. Too many attack vectors. I've learned that coding is where the bugs are. And that security has to walk hand in hand with developers from design through to finished product. If security is developed just before launch as a bolt on - the security team will ...

I half agree. Ok maybe a bit less than half. It's awesome and groundbreaking. If you let it code a project from the get go it's a throw away project(as of now), excellent to explore ideas and for quick personal tools. It gets the structure of the core abstractions and the basic ideas massively w...

How long has your entire life been?

Very true, like this movie explain it was for the first computer vs human mathematical calculations : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_Figures It is the same conclusion, adapt to it or you are "dead".

I believe that one day in the future, AI will also be used on yachts. https://www.yachttrading.com/new-yachts-for-sale/

Right, because people who flip burgers will never be replaced by robots 😂

Well, luckily you can always start, get inspired and learn to do something else and totally different.. There are endless possibilities between coding and flipping burgers. Question is, what do you really want to do, how you spend your time and what for. 🤗🙏
