this is actually really bad. half of the supply is not circulating. That's many things but certainly not good for Bitcoin's "mass adoption" as MONEY.

I agree with the spirit of what you're saying but your logic has a gap. I buy & spend (and sometimes earn) my self custody bitcoin daily.
