I love how on NOSTR you can be a total introvert and "eavesdrop" on people's conversations and add little diddies in where you want to add to a conversation, but you're not talking over anyone, or interrupting, and you can talk to strangers in these eavesdropping events and somehow (hopefully) it's not too weird or off-putting the way it would be in a coffeeshop.

It feels like the good ol' days of the internet to me. We're all global neighbors and nostr is our porch lights and coffee pots.

Indeed. Occasional unhinged crusades occur but sometimes someone just pops in with a very helpful tidbit of knowledge or additional context.

Agreed... I use VRChat the same way. Just slink around the corners and listen in to the main group, look at the cool worlds, then sometimes throw in a quick comment and go back to slinking. I have "main group energy" for 5 seconds at a time.

Yes, I like the conversation tab more than the feed tab I think.

I don't think there's anyone I've actually met in person that is on here. I feel like it's probably like that for most people so we are more likely to "talk to strangers" 😆

Peeking at replies is also a good way for me to decide whether to follow someone or not ... sometimes their content feed isn't indicative of their social graces (or lack thereof).

Spot on That’s the true beauty of Nostr. It removes that awkward social barrier and lets the thoughts flow naturally. Youre not just eavesdropping youre participating in a global brainstorm where everyones voice has its own space. Its the perfect sanctuary for introverts who have a lot to say!

Nostr somehow makes lurking a feature, not a flaw. Signal over noise, presence without pressure.
