Starting a war because you have a gut feeling everything will work out the way you want it to isn't a brilliant plan?

I don't think this exposes ONLY the Trump administration or ONLY Republicans as being clueless about the exercise of power on the world stage.
Being a high-level US politician is like being a nepo baby (put aside how many of them ARE nepo babies). After a few generations of being so powerful they don't actually need to be good at anything or know anything, people get so lazy & act so carelessly. Because it always works out for them.
Until it doesn't. Until the power starts to fall apart.
