I would agree that race is used to divide and rule. Like gender is. But both are very real

race is not real. 1% different DNA does not match any realistic genetic boundary. the rule in biology is if it can cross breed it's the same species. race at best is a reference to a broad regional type, like you have the race of blackbirds and the race of canary-like seed eaters, and the race of large corvids which includes ravens, crows, rooks, and the small corvids that kinda belong in there like jackdaws. in phylogeny it's called a family. felines, canines, crustaceans, arthropods, worms, the races of microbes like bacteria, fungi, amoeba, all characterised by characteristics that you can condense into a prototype, and very often loose cross-breeding ability like donkeys and horses.

gender is from the same root as "generate" and is entirely biological in its formal, old definition. the marxist reframing of it as a preference is a covert invalidation of both generation and autonomy.

1% difference in DNA makes a massive difference. Dogs can cross-breed. And like humans, they vary enormously behaviourally, aesthetically, etc. Different races are like different breeds of dogs. Breedable, yes, but very different due to their distinct genetics.

"Race" in humans is what we would can a variety or landrace, not even a subspecies. The existence of varieties is indutiable, even if you and I are crosses. The political significance attached to race, however, is very much a social construct, and has varied in strength enormously between societie...
