lol…. I truly do not understand. Maybe they’ve never tried?

These are people that have tried and have created their own entropy using dice, pills or cards.

Maybe they don’t understand that when they sit as a ‘panel of experts’ in front of an audience… the 12 years of indoctrination most of us have been subjected to, teaches us to outsource our trust and thinking to them.

Maybe they don’t understand that 24words is orders of magnitude greater than 12words. As I’m also sick of hearing there is practically no benefit in 24words over 12words and 12words is ‘good enough’. This maybe true in a multisig as an attacker needs 24words (2 x 12) but in a single sig 24words is quantum resistant and 12words is not.

12 words plus quantum is theorised to make the 128bit entropy as hackable 64bit entropy is now. Difficult but not impossible.

Apologies for the rant, feeling a bit frustrated over the shared opinions from last night… which if followed lands noobs straight back in the “don’t verify, trust” paradigm. Screw that! How’s that working out for the world?

I’m one of those 12 word proponents. We can discuss IRL but look into the full systems’ entropy. SHA-256’s real collision security is 2^128. Pilling more entropy into the private key doesn’t change the lower bound of the system. All that said, there is no ‘right way’ if 24 makes you ...
