I spent more than 3 hours today to figure out that I needed to open a firewall port with ufw on my #Omarchy machine to get Xdebug to work with Docker and my PHPStorm IDE.
Man a man...this is not very well documented but the documentation of DDEV lead the way here https://github.com/ddev/ddev/issues/5248
And good to know that Omarchy is using ufw-docker which blocks almost every port of your docker containers...
