one of the things that's been most revealing during the last couple of years is how _some_ people view developers. i never realised how many people see devs at gatekeepers and held them with contempt.

it's such a scam. how long until the market catches up and melts down?

yes. it's much better to treat them like a desktop computer rather than an always present device.

yes. i'm aware of those archaic devices. a number of the apps I use regularly are mobile first and won't work independently of a computer. messaging apps, banking, sms, phone calls that sort of thing.

meh. they can do what they want with their cloud software. they need to make money somehow.

everything else is still FOSS I believe.
