yes. i'm aware of those archaic devices. a number of the apps I use regularly are mobile first and won't work independently of a computer. messaging apps, banking, sms, phone calls that sort of thing.

Making devices harder to access could be a good thing. This means the phone is still as useful but can no longer slip into a pocket and always be present. It requires a determined effort to carry around or go and get from wherever it has been left in order to do something.
