लेकिन अब मुझे लगने लगा है कि टैक्स लगाने से ही सरकार और जनता के रिश्ते को बदल देता है। जब सरकार सीधे सीधे लोगों की कमाई पर टैक्स लगाने लगती है, तो वो लोगों की सेवा करने वाली संस्था कम और उनसे पैसा निकालने वाली मशीन ज़्यादा बन जाती है। इससे एक टकराव पैदा होता है कि सरकार जनता को जवाब देने के बजाय उस सिस्टम को जवाब देने लगती है जो लोगों से पैसा वसूलता है।

और अगर आज आसपास देखो, तो साफ दिखता है कि हम जो टैक्स देते हैं, उसका इस्तेमाल असल में हमारे भले के लिए नहीं हो रहा।

Excellent conversation. #India continued the exact same Imperial Administrative Service, only changing by name. Even today they are all permanent government employees. Although with the current inequality of income, they all take side of the kickbacks. Surprised that UK government, or even the prime minister is such handicapped.
