@nprofile1q... Three of my siblings are adopted, but not a typical case (rough background, kids were starting to age out, they were of one family that my parents adopted together). But I've seen a lot of kids in the foster system get abused because many do it for the money, rather than out of a sense of noblesse oblige, and anything spent on the kid's welfare takes away from that income.
