Nice to see people are using it like this :-)
A caveat to "The Uganda Communications Commission has warned that the government can disable Bitchat. I wish them luck. It's technically impossible to remotely shut down Bluetooth on individual phones without confiscating every device." You can (and governments can too) jam signals. Hobby equipment can jam tens of meters, professional equipment several hundred meters. Anyway, that also seems like a significant challenge for a government to achieve.

Honestly I don't know. I limited my battery to 80% max charge, and just changed the idle setting when the laptop is closed

There are some default settings to change. Not sure for Fedora, but on Ubuntu I had to tweak CPU and sleep settings.

Yesterday night TechTuesday and Nostr relay workshop where nice! We had quite a few contributions on the soapbox. @nprofile1q... about Claude Code, for which he has a fully booked session at @nprofile1q... on Friday. Marjon who is realizing one of her wishes to have collection covers in QuodLibet, did this with vibe coding with the same Claude Code. Frank (Wordpress community) shared about accounting for associations, Victor who shared about his event, which is also fully booked, but can be followed via Discord, and finally Bart Roorda shared more extensively about the car sharing he arranged with neighbors. It was great that it was so lively πŸ™‚

As for the session, I did a workshop on setting up your own Nostr relay to be able to share the decentralized network, and soon also the exchange of stories and agendas within @nprofile1q... . The software I used turned out to be the English-language wok, strfry https://github.com/hoytech/strfry . I also shared https://www.noip.com/, which allows you to link your own domain or a free subdomain to your dynamic IP address. I also shared https://nostr.net/, where you can find all the different relay software via the 'Relays' menu, and https://nostr.watch/, which provides an overview of most relays.

This was also a learning experience for me, as many questions arose about how we were going to implement Nostr in Wondersofwork.nl. Not entirely relay-related, but interesting questions nonetheless. This is something I'll be discussing further with Wonders of Work.

Finally, we had a little time left for Tech Tuesday itself, but we didn't really get around to it. The plan is to move it to a 3th Wednesday of the month. #TechTuesday #Workstr #Wonderstr
