The people in Morocco are so friendly. On Friday, a whole group at a restaurant treated me to couscous. I also took a taxi once, and the driver gave me the ride for free. Highly recommended.

One of the platforms was Hyves, which hosted millions of Dutch profiles where people could send each other public messages known as "Krabbels" and share GIFs of dancing bananas. Pure nostalgia. Hyves shut down in 2013, yet data has been preserved through various channels. Currently, Sebastix is ​​pioneering a project called Nyves https://nyves.nl/ . Having received initial financial support from SIDN, he is breathing new life into archived profiles from the old Hyves platform using the Nostr protocol. It is remarkable that we can now access old platform data in a decentralized way. Sebastix has made great progress with a solid foundation at nyves.nl, but he could certainly use funding for further development. Given his track record with other successful projects such as Nostr at FOSDEM, the Nostr-PHP library, and web bookmarking. I have full confidence that he will make Nyves a success as well.

Camel meat burger, it was a bit hard to find, but in Fes there is. @npub1hugcn... recommended it to try. So, thank you Samir. It tastes mostly as beef, but a bit more dry.

Well, it certainly made for an interesting start to my journey in Morocco... 😄

The taxis are a bit different here. It was a private shared taxi, which was a bit weird, and it started driving in a different direction. Because of the language barrier, there was some misunderstanding, and since I was confused, I accidentally left my phone on the seat.

I then took another taxi back to the airport and luckily found the same taxi driver, who still had my phone. He was very friendly. After that, some locals also helped me find a good taxi to my accommodation.

So perhaps the bracelet really does bring good luck after all. 😉
