Is my career safe from AI? We're all thinking it. A winemaker's future isn't as simple as "a robot will take my job." I'll benefit from the first wave of automation through better software tools for...

How long do you think you have? You might actually be better off in the operations side. I'll take a wild guess that you've got at least 20 years if your the pickers. Machines have to do just as good as humans AND cost less. Else, why use them? You also need huge upfront investment and there needs to be enough people/infrastructure to support repairing the machines in a timely manner. All that still needs to cost less than a human.

Sorry to hear/see this friend. I'm still really early in my wine making journey and I buy my fruit from an orchard. I haven't had to deal with this kind of loss. Is there any way your vines survived and you get a crazy interesting vintage based on the extreem dryness? Or, is that type of torture only good for certain varieties and when the grapes are already on the vine?

I bought a 2017 #porsche Cayenne GTS with a v6 twin turbo. I've seen oil pool up in the outlined area (very slowly). Once the dealership cleaned it out completely and drove it a while they said they couldn't fine the leak. Looking at it though, it doesn't look quite right. Does anyone know why the part of the engine just left of the pully here and right of the oil filter looks like a bad weld? Whatever it is, it doesn't look finished correclty. I'm wondering if its actually leaking from here. Anyone have the same motor in there car and can take a picture?
