my hot take on keyboards is that if they have a "function" key, they're not big enough.
If you want to have a key do two things, simply put a second key somewhere to do that other thing
@nprofile1q... I used to think that, until I got RSI pain in my wrists, and now I believe that you should be able to reach every key by just moving your fingers, without moving your wrists, and if you need more keys, just add more layers. Also, trackball is the best pointing device.

I think one of the most important skills of a programmer is the ability to look at the source code, and be able to tell what it does. Not by comparing it to similar code they have seen before and guessing, but by going through the instructions step by step in their heads. There are programming languages and tools that are designed to make that easier, and I always hugely preferred those. Not being able to do that, because it depends on context or is not well defined is a major problem for me.

@nprofile1q... I think the more important part here is that since you have full control over the images, they could be rooted, and there is really no reliable way to verify that they are not.

@nprofile1q... Nope, that doesn't work either. Mostly you need rich parents, and no conscience (but that usually comes with rich parents already).
After carrying the backpack with my laptop and my projects for two days at the previous event, I decided to see if I can optimize it a little bit better. I ordered one of those tablets with a keyboard cover, to act as my travel computer (and double as a reader). Now I'm sitting here and wondering if it will arrive before I leave to the next conference, or a day too late. I also packed my projects in a cardboard box from jlcpcb, instead of aluminium suitcase. We will see how that works.
