Asking someone to find a way to trust a person in a position of power is completely inappropriate. Don’t do it.

People in a position of power should go out of their way to become trusted.

Trust must be earned. It can’t be given*. It’s a hard work, and it’s an uncomfortable work. But without trust, the only way to lead is by using force, and that usually doesn’t work out in the long run.

* It can however be bridged, but only temporarily.

šŸ¤” If Next.js were truly open (not just open code, but also open to ideas and contributions), why would @Cloudflare, @Netlify, and @SST_dev be joining forces to collaborate on OpenNext? ā‰ļø

My personal goal for this week is to learn to make a great old fashioned at home.

Got three bottles to experiment with:
- Woodford reserve
- Horse soldier
- Mitcher’s straight rye

Horse soldier is winning so far!

One huge learning from @ViteConf this year is that prerecorded talks are much harder to do than live talks. The lack of audience to connect with and the pressure to not messing up too much because the async audience is less forgiving (I think) makes it a much harder endeavor that what I expected.

This was my first prerecorded talk ever and I learned a lot from it.

One highlight is that sli.dev is amazing! I’m be using it a lot going forward! Thank you @antfu7 & the crew for making it.
