The founder of a beautiful free school told me that parents have to stay as long as it takes (weeks, months) in the school until the child feels truly connected and safe with the teachers. Her insisting on that made me think. In public school (Switzerland) it is the opposite, parents are allowed for the first morning after summer holidays, then they have to leave.
