Starting out the morning at 39 degrees F. (That would be 3 degrees C for all of you in the rest of the world.)

Tomorrow is.. (checks calendar)… JUNE 1. 🤯

Granted, where I live in northwest #Vermont is only 45 mins south of the border with #Canada. So we do expect cold.

But last week it was 88 F (31 C). 🤦‍♂️

When people wonder why people in the northeast US talk about the weather so much… THIS is why! Intense variability.

Dear Zoom,
In what world would you think I would want an “AI Companion” panel *taking up almost half the application screen*? And that apparently *I cannot turn off* in the application settings itself… and instead have to login to the Zoom website to go into the settings *there* to turn off this panel?

This is the kind of behavior toward users that is turning people off to all things related to #AI. If I wanted to use the AI Companion, I could’ve just pressed the icon.

Signed,
A fatigued user

Fascinating comparison between the countries. I would perhaps want to see a broader analysis... but this also seems to align with other charts and articles I've read...

This whole thread - and the accompanying article - are well worth the read if you are interested in #InternetAccess from #LEO, I.e. #Starlink, #OneWeb, #AmazonLeo, etc.

The reality is that we do NOT yet understand all the potential impacts of these new services. They can bring life-changing #Internet to so many people with few (or no) other options.. but at what cost?

So.. folks interested in "local-first" software and apps, I could use your help!

I created a Wikipedia article about local-first software: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local-first_software

A few weeks ago I noticed there wasn't one, so I started doing some research and drafting some text. I welcome any feedback and suggestions!

And I would welcome help from any other Wikipedia editors to make the article better. Also need to identify other articles that should link to this one.
