I need to talk to whoever is designing these Nostr apps because my phone's mobile data plan is getting absolutely murdered.
How are we this far into the Nostr ecosystem and almost every single client still acts like everyone has unlimited 5G broadband running straight to their pocket?
Decentralization sounds amazing until opening your feed for ten minutes burns through half a gigabyte of data. If you aren't using an app backed by a heavy caching aggregator, your phone gets pounded with raw JSON payloads and unthrottled media files.
If you build Nostr clients, please just add three basic things: a "click-to-load" media switch, a way to hard-limit active relays, and a simple Low Data mode toggle.
