Just found out one of the anti-vaxxers in my village has caught Shingles.

I kind of expect it to make the rounds, and I'm really grateful that I've not been socializing with them much (I *am* vaccinated, so I don't think it would be much of a problem for me anyway).

Sucks for them, I guess. Too bad they aren't "woke" or they would have gotten their vaccines.

Real talk for my European friends:
Learn about places that are hotter (and colder) than what you're used to. Climate change is going to make every summer and every winter significantly worse, and learning about how people in areas that are hotter/colder cope with the weather is going to become even more important as time goes on.

It is "too late" to FIX what is happening. It will take decades to recover from industrialization, and as our ancestors 20000 years ago had to learn: Adapt, or die.

I was fortunate in my life to have lived with very cold and very hot temperatures. As much as the heat from the last week sucked, I, personally, was never in any real danger because of my history. I expect I will manage mostly ok, but I worry about people that just don't realize how bad things will get.

This is not the hottest summer that you will see (unless you fail to adapt), and this winter will probably be as cold as this summer will be hot.

Please take care of yourselves. Teach your children how to recognize things like heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

The racists will complain about the loss of their culture as they are forced to choose between what they're used to and what works with the new climate.
