Sermon: "Get Behind Me" (Matthew 16:21-27): Peter had the right title and the wrong definition. He confessed Jesus as the Christ, but when Jesus said that the road to the Kingdom passed through suffering and the cross, Peter objected. Jesus answered: “Get behind me.” Peter’s proper place was behind Jesus. So is ours. Following Christ means letting him determine the road, even when faithfulness does not produce the outcome we expected. The road is cross-shaped, but the destination is glory. #ChristIsKing #Christianity #Biblestr

From Sunday's Sermon: Matthew 16:17: “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” This is why we pray before we share the Gospel. This is why we keep praying for people who seem closed to it. The Father is the one who reveals. We are not. #ChristIsKing #Christianity #Biblestr

On Sunday we read Matthew 16:13–20. Before then, read the passage. The disciples have already confessed Jesus as the Son of God. Then, at Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asks a more searching question: “But who do you say that I am?” Notice what Peter says, and where Jesus says that confession came from. #ChristIsKing #Christianity #Biblestr

From Sunday's Sermon: The Canaanite woman came for her daughter, who could not come for herself. We are not bystanders in the lives of the people we love. We can come when they cannot. We can kneel when they will not. We can say, Lord, help me, and mean both ourselves and them in the same breath. Is there someone you need to bring before Jesus this week? #ChristIsKing #Christianity #Biblestr

This reminds me of the mothers in Gaza who carry their children's pain in their own bodies, pleading for mercy when their kids have no voice left. 🕊️ Pinned our personal story & updates on my profile if you'd like to connect with our reality in Gaza. https://i.postimg.cc/1zv9VTqN/altqaaat.png
