He confessed Jesus as the Christ, but when Jesus said that the road to the Kingdom passed through suffering and the cross, Peter objected. Jesus answered: “Get behind me.” Peter’s proper place was behind Jesus. So is ours. Following Christ means letting him determine the road, even when faithfulness does not produce the outcome we expected.
