Fragmentation on the Fediverse is a real problem. Hypothetically, let’s say I’m an admin. I don’t like "John Doe" (just a random example). Instead of simply blocking John Doe myself, I demand t...

In the past, all social interaction was fragmented. We went to different pubs and clubs. We lived in different towns and cities.

Most people were well known in their social circle but practically unknown in the next town.

Fragmentation didn't seem like a problem.

Why is it a problem now?

I think, eventually, we'll have to pay people something like the average national wage to have children.

It's one of those things that seem inconceivable right up until it's impossible to see an alternative.

It's a bit like mobile phone use in that respect.

What do the #nostritches here think? #asknostr

My high school classmates... I was told I'm too stupid to understand socialism and that socialism is backed up with facts ... 😂

We had one lesson on world affairs in our last year. It was taken by our maths teacher.

He did a ninety minute dash from gengis khan to the wipe out of the arawaks.

It was only years later I realised why he did it. People who hate socialism use the ussr as the example.

People who hate capitalism use swimdlers as the example.

Words like love and hate actually describe behaviours.

Words like capitalism and socialism only describe people.

What is the most current and strongest rebuttal to: but what happens when quantum computing breaks the blockchain? #asknostr
Silner profile picture
Well it probably won't mayyer for bitcoin. A lot of quantum computing businesses are saying that. Apparently some networks like ETH will be a lot mOre vulnerable.

The truth is usually more boring than the hype.

Some kinds of Web cyphers could be I just trouble but they'll probably have some kind of matrix cryptography in place before that matters.

#asknostr For all the people who self-host, which RSS feed you use on docker & why? I’m tired of scrolling through social media for news. I’ll rather curate my own feed with topics I enjoy.
Silner profile picture
Once upon a time that was the only way to keep up. Google used to have an amazing RSS feed creator but like a lot of the best stuff they made they got bored and took their toys home.

Sorry. I realise reminiscing is little use but it's half an hour past bedtime here in the UK and I'm rambling tired :)

Reminisce away! I’m down to listen to personal recounts. Google usually makes great products but kill it so sudden, no matter it’s success :/ How is life in the UK?

It occurs to me that a #libertarian should support a falling birth rate, because beyond the short term pain should lie self reliance and devolved power structures.
