I get fired up because I hear prominent bitcoiners talk as if cashu is backed 1:1 with bitcoin. I hear things like it’s lightning with more privacy. These statements are dishonest. Cashu isn’t dependent on Bitcoin in any way. You don’t need to run a node or lightning node. There is an option for mint operators to add a lightning funding source which could be any lightning addresses custodial or non custodial. When you use someone’s mint you are essentially using a group lightning address controlled by the mint operator.

Cashu is just another solution in search of a problem. That’s why I think Calle is pro spam. He wants to clog up the blockchain with dick butts and act like a savior with cashu.

The cashu crowd is a bunch of pretentious grifters.

Nah dude

You are brushing everything off like it anit thang lmao

You are missing the points here. It’s a major conflict of interest.

VC firms have a fiduciary responsibility to their investors to do everything they can to benefit the shareholders.

If Odell votes for a 1031 competitor to receive a grant from OpenSats he is breaking that promise to his shareholders

Full stop. This is not permitted in any industry. It’s not about opinions this IS a conflict of interest. Disclosing it doesn’t justify breaking fiduciary responsibility.

The primal thing is setting a terrible precedent do you understand what I said about them changing users notes?

It’s not about centralized media hosting it’s about altering the users notes.

The media url is part of my note and primal is altering it by using their media file.

They could at any point change the media that’s used in that url.

I feel like you are not understanding how bad this is. It defeats the purpose of Nostr.

Don’t play yourself Anon.

“Shinobi” is the original Japanese word for “ninja” and translates to “one who sneaks”. Shinobi were warriors in feudal Japan who specialized in unconventional warfare, including assassination, sabotage, and infiltration. They were often employed for espionage, siege, and military deception @note102ale...

Self custody will not matter if the mempools and chain get spammed to oblivion and it’s 100k sat v/B to transact.

The simplest way to understand what the net result of the no limit OP_RETURN would be is that users WILL NOT be able to set a limit on OP_RETURNs and Bitcoin Core will default your node to no limit, with NO WAY FOR USERS TO SET A LIMIT ON OP_RETURN.

This means LESS FREEDOM for individual node runners.

The reason they want to limit your freedom? “We should just do it because people already do it”

Core is trying to force their ideology on all node runners without letting the users opt out.

Odell solution…. Apply to opensats——GUESS WHAT ODELL——Not everyone wants to get KYC’d or be subject to you and opensat’s shitty views. This is gas lighting. Honestly It’s a real bitch ass thing to say.

At the end of the day Bitcoin Core is taking away node runners control because “people can already do this stuff”

Odell and company are laughing at you telling you it’s just a policy change. When in reality they are championing for Bitcoin Core to take away the ability for you to set a limit on OP_RETURN.
