// Evangelion-Inspired Art & Design
I see a lot of people sharing today about Evangelion Interfaces, really some of the most inspiring and timeless designs. I still watch classic anime like Neon Genesis: Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell and pause to take stills when I see some unique design inspiration.
This afternoon I just enjoyed spending some time to create a similar feeling (not necessarily the look) that I get from these classic terminal interfaces. It also allows me to be a bit more abstract and really do things I wouldn't traditionally do in design > minimalism + simplicity for one. Instead I enjoyed making this collage of the Privacy by Principle philosophy with
@V E C T O R theme. Yes, this is a real app btw and now I'm thinking about making an EVA-01 theme for it.
For me, one of the most classic visuals that stands out in these types of series are the "Caution" or "Warning" bars that often use a broken horizontal line with 45/60 degree diagonal cuts. It reminds me of industrial buildings or construction where they would have these bright yellow warning signs not to enter or wear a hardhat, etc. Whoever really popularized this design has silently won countless awards and well deserved, they really set the standard and feel for many generations to come. This is about as universal as you can get for design in my opinion.
Anyways, hope you all enjoy it and excited to see more original work and not getting Claude or AI to design for you. Yep, I said it. Stand by everything that I say. For implementation? Great, but be creative and take time to work on your own designs and not just rely on AI to give you everything. That is where in lies the true joy of creativity and design, enjoying the process...
