Lots of work still to be done, imo. https://image.nostr.build/5217b921481784593fb93263202952a4aa8958b6a5584e5a82cb1cbf5cdd9b0a.jpg

Throughout my life I have envied those who seem to maintain a more sensible emotional equilibrium. Never too excited, never too angry. Never too sad nor overly exuberant.

I have felt, at times, burdened by riding the sine wave of life – never quite able to ignore it let alone fail to experience it. While I appreciate the Stoic perspective, I have learned over the years to appreciate life's muck and mire. In order to appreciate it you must truly experience it and not feign disinterest or emotional detachment in the name of perseverance.

And then you learn about Bitcoin. And you once again understand that fearing volatility does not make you more adept. Like the flexible wing of a plane in turbulent air, you learn that being fixed and rigid inevitably fractures with strain. You learn that it is the air that is constant and we merely oscillate around it. The Bitcoin protocol is constant, but our unit of measurement is what changes.

The fight against volatility can be seen in other aspects of life. You begin to recognize that identity when fixed is a wing that cannot fly. It cannot adapt under strain, further locking itself to a fragile structure. Privacy and freedom as a core to one' s identity becomes subjectively applied depending on the political currents, remaining fixed only to anchors of righteousness.

Bitcoin illuminates our volatility around a fixed point and our struggle to hold onto it as if that point is the only thing true and real in this world. Having the courage to let go is the freedom you're after.

If there is any time to use the Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man gif it’s now. Where is the outrage? How can there be when those in power were complicit?

We can’t hold that kind of system accountable. The only option is to build outside of it.

At least they picked an activity the left has been absolutely undefeated in as of late: sitting home and doing nothing.

I agree with this and a similar X post from @Jameson Lopp

It is the most likely explanation plaguing both sides.
The fight and vitriol is not about Freedom or Equality, it’s about being right and self-preservation of identity.

Within the past 2 weeks this has been so clearly exemplified
Privacy and 2nd amendment now make sense to liberals
Conservatives all to quick to turn their back on an avid 2nd amendment proponent

Ask yourself what it is you are truly defending (answer: an increasingly centralized and powerful D.C. who is not acting in your best interest but is very good at convincing you otherwise)

Are you defending who you believe you are or what you’ve been told you should be?
