@nprofile1q... My guess is the firmware does a check for the display and requires it to be present for it to post. Possibly you could just put a fake cable in? I do not know fully how it gets detected, so perhaps there's a board in the panel, you might need that and just store it inside the chromebook. I'd be curious to know if this is adjustable if you were to custom build Mr Chromebox, or if this is a limitation even farther down the line.
