Somehow ChatGPT thought this had some meaning

Don't be surprised if God calls you to something that makes you uncomfortable and relates to your weakness. God seems more likely to use our weaknesses than our strengths because when something great happens, He gets the glory. It was not us, but Him through us.

Fear not! Just obey. With God, all things are possible.

FYI, after scheduling this post, I read about King Hezekiah’s response to Taunting by the Rabshekah of Assyria, who blasphemed the God of Jerusalem. It fit this post well, but was hard to force into the flow of the article. I am including it here (with a few parts removed to make it shorter) as an example that supports what was written above.

And when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth and entered the house of the Lord. … They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of distress, rebuke, and rejection; for children have come to birth and there is no strength to deliver. Perhaps the Lord your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ” So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah. Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a rumor and return to his own land. And I will make him fall by the sword in his own land.” ’ ”

… he sent messengers again to Hezekiah saying, “Thus you shall say to Hezekiah king of Judah, ‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you saying, “Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.” Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, destroying them completely. So will you be spared? Did the gods of those nations which my fathers destroyed deliver them, … ?”

Then Hezekiah took the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it, and he went up to the house of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “O Lord, the God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. 16Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and listen to the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God. Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have devastated the nations and their lands and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. So they have destroyed them. Now, O Lord our God, I pray, deliver us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O Lord, are God.”

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard you.’ (2 Kings 19:1,3-7,9b-12a, 14-20) {emphasis mine}

Hezekiah laid the seemingly impossible situation before God, prayed for help, and left the result to God. Because Hezekiah prayed, rather than trying to do everything himself, God heard him and answered his prayers.

We normally never have fire problems this time of year, but all winter has been warm and dry. Normally fire season doesn't start until July, or maybe June in an early year. I'm trying to look at the situation optimistically. Hopefully the fire created a fire break that will starve any future fires of their needed fuel.

Appreciated.

We no longer have any threat. Last I heard, the fire was still bad and heading east. Continue praying for the firefighters and those whose lives and/or houses are threatened. The only good news is the area is very sparsely populated, so it isn't likely to affect a large number of people.

There is a bad grass fire near our house. For a short while it seriously threatened our house. (Scary since we lost our house to a similar fire 10 years ago). I think the real threat is gone, but it is still blowing east, so please pray for the firemen and the individuals and homes in its path.

Absolutely, luckily most of the fire is under control. We just have to deal with loss of power still. And thank you for your prayers.😊

The indoctrination of students with lies is worse, but I do think the school system has done students wrong by degrading blue collar jobs. As AI starts taking over jobs, it is likely going to be people in the skilled trades (plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc.) who have guaranteed well-paying jobs, while many (most?) of the people with college degrees end up on unemployment.

Removing masculine men, and leaving only the incompetant sports-dandies, was a loss of a necessary counterbalance. Don't get me wrong, there is no recovering it from here and it all should be shut down and no Christian or parent who gives two shits about their kids should send their kids to public ...
