I made a 3D printed seed phrase jig inspired by MicroSeed_io’s design, to stamp some 1” titanium seed plates. I already had the stamps on hand, and love to tinker and build, otherwise I’d have just ordered one of his jigs directly!

His machined version has way better tolerances right out of the box, and mine definitely took a long time and a lot of tweaking to get dialed in properly. Huge props to him for creating such a clean, professional solution.

Nice work on the DIY jig—tinkering is half the fun, even if commercial versions are tighter. Reminds me of an article arguing Alexander’s real genius was logistical adaptability, not just raw conquest. Your tweaking process echoes that: execution often hinges on grinding through incremental fixe...

Well this is cool… someone found a way to power a fleet of Bitcoin miners with what would otherwise be waste material from his milling process. Then he takes the waste heat from his ASICS to kiln dry the next batch of wood. Turns waste into Bitcoin! Pure profit, clean money.

“Every output feeds the next input. The timber operation funds day-to-day costs. The Bitcoin goes to treasury — held, never sold for fiat. The waste that would have been a liability becomes the fuel for the entire system.”

That was my feeling as well. I made the decision to start pointing my miners at home to Parasite Pool, and made some comments about how I like the incentive structure with partial block rewards when any one of the solo miners within the pool hits a block. It makes sense to me to have the best of both worlds between pool mining and solo mining.

Anyway- it’s a big ordinals community bc the guy who came up with it is into ordinals. And after making supportive comments about Parasite, I have 20 new followers on X with these JPEG profile pics… so my signal:noise on this one got super skewed on the level of support overall.

How many Bitcoiners are actually into Ordinals? Like, as a percentage. The art is generally pretty god awful, and “rare sats” aren’t a thing. The closest I can get to understanding it is like a coin collector wanting to put a premium on collecting certain coins. The urge to create a sub-culture and economy on top of a monetary layer. I start to MAYBE understand the draw when I think about them like that.

But then I remember how god awful the art usually is 😂 I’m purely in Bitcoin to save for my kids’ and my grandkids’ futures. Literally all I care about.

The NFTs and individual sats seem dumb, but some utxoset could have extra sentimental value, like what if hal fin sent you a coin? I think people would pay more for the provenance of that utxo

None of my wallets can display this stuff, so from my perspective it doesn’t exist. 🤷‍♂️

Damn never thought about that, that will be some high value sats!

Thank you! I wonder if it was that I’m too retarded to use Nostr lol. I set up a Coinos wallet that I funded, could zap sats to others but someone told me I still needed to set a wallet up. They couldn’t zap me. So I downloaded another client provider, Primal, and set up a wallet with them. Ended up zapping myself twice somehow and now I have one wallet for receiving zaps and another for sending them 💀

Depending on your client you need to configure a lightning address to receive zaps. Nostr is a little bit rough around the edges but its worth it 👍🏽
