Bear Archery has some decent bows to get you started (that's what I'm using at the moment). They're somewhat affordable and good quality for the price. I'd recommend a bow kit that comes with everything so you don't have to try and piece it together yourself..then just upgrade as you progress.

They're reusable organic cotton filters. Hand sewn in Texas. I recommend them.

Chemex's are the way to go..try out coffeesock filters to go up a level.
