I couldn't make up my mind about this issue. I just hoped it would solve itself. Both sides just interacting witch each other in ugly and unproductive ways disgusted me which is why I kept my distance.

When I see a post that's just laying down facts in a rational way, probability for signal rises and I listen.
Would like to see the core people tell their side of the story since I'm still on the fence.

How does he work 24/7?
Does he have regular tasks set up that fill the day?
Do you have to instruct him regularly on what to do?
Does he know what to do himself after you prompted him once?
What does it cost to run it 24/7?
Does it make lots of mistakes?

Your math is technically correct, but the comparison is misleading. In 1971 the dollar was still officially tied to gold at $35/oz for governments — market forces were constrained and the dollar’s role was different. Once Nixon closed the gold window, gold was allowed to float and its dollar price shot up (to about $180 by 1974) as the dollar lost purchasing power.

So you're not wrong. The effects just have been less extreme.
