Well, don’t take this as a dodge Piotr, but I’m running errands at the moment and not sitting at my desk waiting to collect and argue Flash posts with analysis and nuance. Like I said, I’ve mostly ignored his content for while now because I found it frustrating. I’ve actually ignored Nostr entirely recently because I’m busy doing other things with my life and there’s just too much toxic shit on social media, in general. I just happened to check in today.

The fact that you refer to what he’s doing as being analogous to a “news outlet” is specifically what I’m pointing to. ACTUAL news journalism isn’t about forwarding information as fast as possible. That’s precisely the point I made, above: opinions and reactions aren’t news.
If someone reposts vile shit that someone else says, how can you trust the information they are providing. Actual journalism (even citizen journalism) is about holding one’s self to a professional standard. Does that make sense to you?

Very little is black and white when it comes to current events — or historical events. Everything is contextual, but social media has groomed a generation to produce and consume hot-takes rather than deep research which takes patience, time, and humility.
The advent of the 24-hour news cycle meant there’s always something that needs to be said about something. Content must be produced, even if it is just an opinion or an initial reaction. More often than not, these are simply wrong.
Flash is a victim of this as much as he is a perpetrator of it.
His mea culpa here isn’t to acknowledge that he’s sometimes wrong and will spend more time to do better, it’s “I don’t make the news and will continue posting whatever is BREAKING as fast as possible” and through a lens of self-importance. That’s a disservice to anyone who follows him and, in fact, diminishes the value of information.

Look in the mirror when you talk like that.

It’s not as simple as being anti- this or that, but that’s what Flash thinks… which is why he focused on that just now. For him, it’s all black and white which is what makes him dangerous as a “news source.”

There was a time when I tried to provide polite, constructive assistance to you, Flash, to help you be better at what you do.
But you are so filled with self-righteousness, it’s impossible. As a consequence, my remarks will point out your failures to show other people that you’re not an honest broker on a RANGE of issues.
