I've had a few women mad at me in my life. Feminists, most of them.

And yet somehow I can listen to the feminist critique of male toxicity without taking it personally. Most of what they're describing in those pieces is not something I recognize in myself. Where I do recognize it, I either try to get better, or sometimes, simply agree to disagree with the author: not all of what they consider toxic masculinity strikes me as toxic. Sometimes it's just a reasonable response to a violent world.
