Luckily much of the content is available elsewhere, but it was a very convenient resource. Too convenient actually, there were no restrictions at all and no attempt to offload any of the work to torrenting or a third party CDN. I don't know how you could spend $6000 on a web service even for a single month without trying to fix/optimize the system.
