With deteriorating eyesight, I find that I need good contrast more than anything. Simple designs definitely help here and make the products more appealing to me. Darkmode has been especially helpful for me. If the product doesn’t look good in darkmode (like some corporate email templates), I struggle with it.

Slightly different, but related thought: people seem to be really attracting to building things, but then show little interest in actually maintaining the things. If just some of the energy that went into building (re: expansion) was redirected into maintenance, we’d probably also be much better off. The roads look like poorly patched denim right now.

I was trying to think through what privacy gains or trade-offs there are when using self-custody lightning wallets (e.g. Mutiny, Phoenix) with maybe a cashu mint in between. Then the EU came with the new proposal and gave me even more to think about, namely how do some of these projects, especially those reliant on LSPs, survive in their current form or at least get maintained… quite a few are French, German, etc. I also think that there will be at least two networks. I’m just not sure how the experience on the pleb network will compare to what we have now.
