Same but for a few years shy of you. The phrase "use Linux if you don't value your free time" still makes me laugh as it's true but I enjoy it regardless and won't switch back. I look up those Unix rice things from time to time to see some new nice tool that solves what my half baked scripting tries and fails at

What else to do with time? Consume other people's codes and narratives? I'll take your half-baked scripts any day of the week. Brain plasticity counts in this world of temptation, of sheer consumption. In aesthetics and mathematics, less and less creation is unprecedented. Like you, sometimes I...

Maybe yours is better actually :-) Anyway, maybe we need a convention for an AGENTS_LOCAL.md file, which includes more 'personal' preferences of the developer, or other details ('Use podman instead o...

One thing I'd like to know if you can do this nicely is coordination between heterogeneous models e.g. Opus and MiniMax/Kimi. I was using PAYG on Claude platform and Openrouter for non anthropic models. Note: I'll be moving to the Claude Max plan thanks to @jb55 clueing me.in on that, my current spend exceed that. To reduce the amount I was paying for tasks I didn't care too much about, I would have a cheaper agent running, in a separate opencode terminal and feature branch and then use Claude or even GPT 5.4 (openrouter) to become the "senior" dev who specs out work for the "juniors". Then does code review and merges. It reduced the amount of spend greatly but is bad UX, prompts and feedback is written to files in the agents repo, would prefer a client server model via ipc, not a makeshift "sneakernet". Anyways, the irony of it makes me laugh. Models aren't safe from labour arbitrage either it seems.

After big code changes, ask your agent if there were any surprises while it was working. I always find it interesting; sometimes it raises important details that it otherwise wouldn't have told me abo...

I use something similar : "Assess how you did, with what you know now, if you were to repeat this what would you change or do differently." Sometimes I think, why didn't you do that in the firstplace 😁. Also getting it to save those bits of feedback that make sense. I'll try your method next time.

For example, I prefer to do the 'git' operations myself, bu...

Opus figured out a nixos issue I was having for ages. Sonnet did well but Opus was able to get the final part relatively quickly. Now I got a sweet luks/btrfs/impermanence setup. Initially wanted to go this route to force myself to keep track of my desktop and various settings, plus to encourage backing up. I don't know if I'll use it as a daily driver but it is quite tidy so far. #nixos #claude
