Fuck it. I don't want to wait on a refurbished deal any longer.

I just ordered a new MS Surface Pro 11 with OLED display. Maybe #Linux will run on it with a fully functional touch&pen. If not, i can always go back to Windows 11. Because i can.

For me, it's the best detachable with a desktop OS out there.

There is a fork of Mastodon available, called "Glitch Edition", that has some special features implemented. My new instance at social.defocn42.net is running this fork.

I came upon an interesting error when trying to connect to the instance. Adding the user "[email protected]" failed because of an unknown network. Then i tried it the other way around from the Mastodon instance and could follow myself on Friendica. The connection is now mutual and the Mastodon instance is recognized as "glitchsoc".

Are there known issues with glitchsoc and Friendica? It's weird, that the connection can be established only from one side and is working normally afterwards.

Kann man grundsätzlich die Häufigkeit von Beiträgen eines Accounts in einer Timeline bzw. Kanal von "Standard" auf "Alle" ändern oder muss man dies mühselig immer für jeden einzelnen Account machen?

I could narrow it down to the use of emojis. What could possibly be the reason, that an emoji does block/filter an entire posting?

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Beim Surface musst du höllisch aufpassen, welche Serie du nimmst. Nur die älteren Surfaces werden komplett unterstützt. Schon der 8er Serie fehlen einige Stiftfunktionen, die Kameras sind nahezu unbrauchbar.
Ich bin gerade selber auf der Suche nach einem echten Detachable - also ohne Scharnier - mit Linux. Framework ist mir für das Gebotene über das gesamte Produktportfolio zu teuer, ein Surface wäre ein Traum, da gebraucht in großer Menge recht günstig zu haben. Wenn da nicht ständig die Unsicherheit wäre, dass alles auch wirklich zuverlässig funktioniert. Und dann bleiben nur Lenovo und Dell. Das Latitude 7350 hat sogar eine Zertifizierung für Ubuntu. Und ist gebraucht zu finden.

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Ganz so einfach ist das nicht. Erst einmal ein Gerät finden, auf dem Touch+Pen auch wirklich zuverlässig funktionieren. Und man nicht nur ständig mit Workarounds basteln muss. Außerhalb von Lenovo und Dell wird es spannend.

I have a weird issue with a single contact.

The first post he is writing each day ("Moin") doesn't appear in my channel or any other timeline at all. Everything else he is posting afterwards does appear as expected. The contact is not limited in any way, the posts are set to get every single post from the contact. To interact with the post i have always go through his profile and find it manually.

I have other contacts that are writing almost identical posts in the morning (words, emojis etc.) and they all appear normally.

What else can it be?
